About Us

Farmer Mountain Farmer Families

Our ancestor William Farmer received a land grant of 415 acres on and around Farmer mountain in 1839 where he lived out his life. William and his wife are buried on this land. It was from this land that trees were cut to build a home for his family to live, to build barns for his livestock and to make room for growing crops. The land was used to produce enough to support the family. That which was not used by the family was traded or sold to obtain those items needed which were not produced on the farm. William was married to Elizabeth Kimbrell and they had three sons, James, William Jr. and Lewis. James was married to Martha Patreca Adcock and they had three sons, Lewis F., William Crawford and Francis Marion. William Crawford, the great grandfather of the composer of these pages, was married to Nancy Elizabeth Reynolds.
